My toy studies explore long forgotten and abandoned collectables and freebies from the early 90’s to the current day. The culture behind these tiny objects and the childish desires to be in possession remains the same throughout the generations. Reacquainting with these small figures and adding their modern counterparts has reminded me that some of these crudely formed figures are the seeds of creativity in children only to be lost or stored away to be forgotten. My work explores the unsung heroes of pocket money toys, the interaction between past and present and how they interact with no discrimination with the more desirable and cherished toys.
